Venetia Cooper

Venetia has done something that many people would like to achieve in their careers. She has worked for a series of organisations whose goals have been to improve the quality of life for millions, if not billions of people.

Venetia graduated with an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (UK), an MA degree in Economics from Cambridge University (UK), and the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD (France).  She subsequently went to work for the Bank of England and was then the Chief Sustainability Officer for Gulf International Bank and Head of Strategy for GIB Asset Management.  As the bank’s first CSO, Venetia was instrumental in developing its sustainability strategy, launching a suite of sustainability-focused products and services, and embedding responsible banking principles.

Today she is the Chief Operating Officer of the Clean Air Fund that attracts many millions of pounds into projects that help reduce the life limiting impact of air pollution that millions of people face every day.

Venetia is equally passionate about supporting young people and the environment, so in her spare time, she is the Chair of an education organisation that is aiming to equip five million workers with sustainability skills by 2030. She is also a trustee of the Environmental Funders Network that aims to increase the money available to support people and organisations who are helping to create a thriving planet.
